The review shows that the unmistakable block mud design of shells provides them with a large number of valuable properties, permitting them to have a great many applications. As a consequence of this, this review emphasizes the overall applications and ideas for development in the fields of biomedicine, adsorption enrichment, photo catalysis, marine carbon sink, and environmental deicer as having a strong connection between the microstructure, function, and application of shells.
