The rapid advancement of digital technologies in the healthcare sector has led to the widespread adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). EHRs offer a transformative potential to improve patient care by centralizing medical information, streamlining communication among healthcare providers, and facilitating real-time access to patient data. However, as healthcare organizations embrace EHRs, they also face significant challenges concerning data privacy and security. With sensitive personal health information now stored electronically, it becomes a target for unauthorized access, cyber-attacks, and data breaches, necessitating robust mechanisms to protect patient privacy and ensure the security of the data. The importance of ensuring data privacy and security in EHR systems cannot be overstated, as failures in these areas could undermine public trust, violate legal requirements, and even lead to harm for patients.
