Biofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus poses a significant challenge in clinical settings, contributing to persistent infections and antibiotic
resistance. This review explores innovative strategies to prevent and disrupt biofilms, including the use of antimicrobial peptides, quorum sensing
inhibitors, and novel drug delivery systems. We also examine the potential of bacteriophage therapy and the role of nanotechnology in enhancing
treatment efficacy. By understanding and targeting the unique characteristics of S. aureus biofilms, these novel approaches hold promise for
improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs associated with chronic infections.
