This article examines the challenges encountered in this field, including technological limitations, data integration complexities and interpretation hurdles. By addressing these difficulties, researchers can enhance the accuracy and applicability of spatially resolved metabolic studies, ultimately advancing our understanding of cancer biology and improving therapeutic strategies.
