Dr. Annie J. Daniel is Director of Veterinary Instructional Design and Outcomes Assessment in Office of Student and Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Veterinary Medical Education at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and an Affiliate Faculty, African & African American Studies. She has over 20 years of experience as an educator and educational leadership in higher education.
She has had educational leadership roles in higher education at the school level, department level, and university level with: Dillard University (Assistant Professor of Education, Assistant Director, Teaching, Learning, Technology, Culture Center and Middle Level Education Program Coordinator); Tulane University School of Medicine (Director, Office of Medical Education & Assistant Clinical Professor); Des Moines University (Director, Center for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning & Associate Professor of Public Health). She also enjoys being a visiting professor in Shenzhen, China and most recently in Taichung, Taiwan (Feng Chia University).
In her current position with the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, she is the Director of Veterinary Instructional Design and Outcomes Assessment in the Office of Student and Academic Affairs in the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). As Director, she develops, manages, and implements initiatives that facilitate the improvement of faculty pedagogical and assessment skills. In addition, she is responsible for implementing her model for continuous quality improvement of the curriculum and maintaining the outcomes assessment model, curriculum mapping, and instructional design for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Daniel also works with the SVM Dean and administrators to development, manage, and implement these initiatives. In addition, her responsibilities also include directing the outcomes assessment reporting and data collection for the School of Veterinary Medicine Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, preparing accreditation reports and analyze data for both the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and the AVMA Council on Education (COE) DVM degree program accreditation. She has recently designed and is in the process of launching a graduate certificate program, Teaching in the Healthcare Professions for faculty that are in academic medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistants, allied health and other academic healthcare professions.
Her research interests include: Barriers that prevent African American students from entering medical school, veterinary school and professional & graduate degree programs, Effects of mentoring on retention, preparedness, and success of African American students in higher education, Deviance when using the Internet, social media, and technology, and Causes and consequences of ineffective use of technology in education. She earned her PhD in Vocational Education from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA and she is alum of the Harvard Macy Institute at Harvard School of Medicine.

Current research is focused on toxoplasmosis. 75 publications in international and Greek scientific journals. Participation in 50 international and national Parasitology conferences. Member of 9 Scientific Organizations. Reviewer of 5 Scientific Journals. Editorial Board Member of 2 Scientific Journal

Research on the control of Coccidiosis ( Eimeriosis) of chickens with various aromatic plants or their extracts (ground oregano, oregano essential oil, Sideritis scardica, Fraxinus ornus) et. al. as alternatives coccidiostatic against the coccidian E. tenella challenged chickens.
Research on dust mites as the most common aeroallergens in asthmatic man and atopic dogs.
