Biography

Prof. Afework’s broad research involvements include the epidemiology, immunology and molecular biology of infectious diseases with emphasis on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, intestinal parasitoses, STIs and other bacterial infections, etc. and he has been published in over 130 peer reviewed scientific publications in peer reviewed journals in Ethiopia and elsewhere in the world. After completion of his postdoctoral studies, he worked first as General Director and later as the Vice President of Research and Community Services at University of Gondar.
