Dr. Almasan is a Professor of Molecular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and co-leader of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. For over 20 years, his lab has had a long-standing interest in cell death and proliferation mechanisms. The focus of his research has been on the molecular basis of the DNA damage signals incurred by mammalian cells following ionizing radiation (as a prototypical DNA-damaging agent) and more recently fludarabine (in clinical use for CLL) and cell death ligands.
