  The advent of genomic and mitochondrial DNA procedures has not displaced the practical use of dental identification after mass disasters or when bone DNA extraction is impossible. Sometimes the ethical aspect is the basic aim of the identification. In this forensic case the purpose of identification was to give psychological comfort to the mother that she has doubted about the identity of the remains of his presumed son. The forensic odontologist occupying a crucial role in the identification of human remains.
