Biography

Dr. Mariscal attended Universidad Autonoma de Madrid Medical School and trained in thoracic surgery at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital in Madrid, Spain. She pursued fellowship training at Toronto General Hospital, specializing in lung transplantation, and now focuses on lung transplant and ex vivo lung perfusion. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, Canada. Her current research in lung transplantation includes ex vivo lung perfusion, gene therapy and assessment of pharmacological therapies as well as translational clinical research studies.
