Her primary research focus is on the developmental aspects of speech motor control in healthy infants and young children and infants/children with neuromotor disorders. Specifically, her studies address the development of the respiratory subsystem and its coordinator with the other speech subsystems for vocalization and speech. Beyond the heuristic value, the aim of this research is to provide the foundation for effective assessment and treatment of infants and very young children with neurogenic communication disorders.
