Improvement in Tensile Strength and Microstructural Properties of SAW Welded Low Alloy Steels by Addition of Titanium and Manganese in Agglomerated Flux

The present work is an effort to study the effect of titanium and manganese powder addition in agglomerated flux, on the mechanical properties, of MS 1025 steel welds made by submerged arc welding. The effect of titanium and manganese powder addition on the agglomerated fluxes by varying the welding parameters like welding voltage and welding speed has been evaluated. Taguchi technique has been used for the design of experiments. The effects of flux, voltage and travel speed have been evaluated on the tensile strength and on the microstructure refining.
