Dr. Charlie Strange is a native of Virginia who was educated at Davidson College and attended the Medical College of Virginia. He moved to Charleston in 1982 for his internal medicine residency and pulmonary and critical care fellowship. He has been a faculty member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine since 1987. Dr. Strange directs the Alpha-1 Foundation Research Registry and has a focused interest in clinical trials for lung disease. He is particularly interested in bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for advanced pulmonary emphysema.
