Dr. Rimland is currently the Chief of Infectious Diseases at the VA Medical Center (Atlanta) and Director of the HIV Program at that facility. He is also Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. His major interests are the epidemiology, treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections and the evaluation of viral load and genotypic changes in HIV as methods to follow treatment decisions. He is currently the chairman of the Technical Advisory Group for AIDS for VA Central Office and serves on the NIH/CDC Task Force on Prevention of Opportunistic Infections.
