"Dr. Emin Aghayev has received his MD from the Universities of Vienna and Bern and his MSc in the field of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bern. Currently, he is working as a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Evaluative Research in Medicine, at the University of Bern in Switzerland. His primary research interests include health services and patient outcome research in treatment of spine diseases. He has received several awards and honors, such as the Swiss Quality Innovation Award, the Marathon Price of the Swiss Society for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, as well as Best Poster Awards from the German and Australian Societies for Spine Surgery. He is serving as an editorial member of BMC Research Notes and expert reviewer for journals like Lancet, Spine, and Eur Spine J. He has published more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of several book chapters. He is a member of the European and the North American Spine Societies and the Swiss Network for Health Technology Assessment. "
