  Healthcare providers do consider the potential risk of harm that any treatment can cause. Chiropractic healthcare is a system of complementary medicine based on the manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column. Recently, the use of chiropractic spinal manipulation has increased considerably while its safety has been debated and estimates vary widely for the incidence of serious complications. Some vascular and neurological incidents account for the criticism surrounding chiropractic.
