International Awards: The 2014 Governor's Humanities Award for Research and Publication in the Commowealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (awarded in 2014);The 12th Excellent Research Award of Philosophy and Science of Beijing City, China (awaded in 2012, with Professor Zhang Chi of Peking University, for the publication of " The Emergency of Agriculture in Southern China" in the leading international journal "Antiquity");

Research Interest

Prehistory in southern China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and the Marianas Islands of Western Micronesia;Ancient migrations of Austronesian-speaking populations; Prehistoric maritime trade networks, especially around the South China Sea region;Prehistoric ornaments.
