Dr. Friedewald received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Princeton University and his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He completed his residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
He now works as a transplant nephrologist in Chicago. He is Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Northwestern University in the Divisions of Nephrology and the Comprehensive Transplant Center. He is the Medical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and he is the Director of Clinical Research for the Transplant Center.
