Biography

2012-Professor of Neurosurgery: Member of teaching staff in T.C. Ä°stanbul Arel University. Many of his articles were published in international journals as a lead author. In turkey he is known as one of the first neurosurgeons who wrote as a lead author 93 articles ( national, international). He accomplished 97 articles from which 50 are international and 47 national. 502 ascriptions were made to his articles. He pursue his job as judge in many professional journals. He invented new techniques in the field of neurosurgery called as KOTIL SURGICAL TECHNIQUES. The techniques invented by him are listed below
1-Kotil 1: Contrlateral lumbar mikrodiskektomi-( 2005- J turkish neurological sci)
2- Kotil 2: Lumbar lysthesis and laminoplasti technique( 2006; Turkish Neurosurg),
3- Kotil 3: Chiari type 1 (beyincik fıtığı) and delamination technique (2007, J of CSF ),
4- Kotil 4: Posterior transodontoid screw fixaiton, ( 2010;J of CVJ and Spine)
5- Kotil 5: Without screw and TLIF technique (2013; J spine disord tch)
6-Kotil 6: Schwannoma, miniopen technique and classificaiton (2014: J asian spine)
7 Kotil 7 ;-upper cervical spine and hibrid fiksastion techn (2014, J of CVJ and spine)
8-Kotil 8, transdural corpectomy technique ( 2015; j of spine; USA)

Research Interest

His professional experience is more profounded in the area of brain, spinal cord and vertebrae. In addition he researches and is investigated in the area of craniovertebral junction or in other terms upper cervical pathologies.
