Biography
Kay received his medical training at University of Hamburg, Germany, which he completed receiving the MD degree. He went on to gain sub-specialty training and certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Allergy, and Occupational Medicine. During a career with the German Navy, Kay was the Diving Medical Officer at the German Naval Medical Institute, Kiel, and furthered his scientific interest in lung physiology and diving medicine. Kay was also consultant pulmonologist at the 1st Medical Department at Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, and was appointed senior lecturer in 2000.
