  A workshop entitled: “What type of HIV Vaccine research should be promoted” took place during a virology conference held in Baltimore in November 2013 (www.omicsgroup.com/conferences/virology-2013/). The purpose of this workshop was to discuss new paradigms that better fit our increased knowledge of HIV immunopathology and which could possibly be more helpful in guiding future vaccine research than did past unsuccessful approaches.
