Mehtap Haktanir Abul

Biography

Mehtap was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Marmara University School of Medicine and completed pediatrics residency in the same city. She was then accepted to pediatric allergy immunology fellowship. During her fellowship, patients who require advanced work up for immunodeficiency diagnosis were being referred to Immunodeficiency Centers in other cities. Mehtap went to Texas Children’s Hospital for 6 months to get advanced training in immunodeficiencies. When she returned to her program, she worked with the Hematology Flow Cytometry Laboratory to establish a diagnostic immunodeficiency panel.
