  Glutathione-S-Transferase (GST) genes, including GSTT1, GSTP1, and GSTM1, play a major role in detoxification and metabolism of xenobiotics. The aim of the present study was to test an orally bioavailable GSH-based compound in poor detoxifier subjects regarding their oxidative stress, ammonia metabolism and heavy metal clearance.
