My research agenda focuses on addressing health disparities arising from structural, social, and other health determinants to promote population health and well-being. Through community-based translational research, I focus on infectious disease prevention and treatment for diseases such as HIV/AIDS, influenza, pertussis, Ebola, and vaccine-preventable illnesses in highly affected communities. The results from my research have been the development and implementation of novel and highly relevant interventions that surmount persistent, as well as emerging, barriers to health.
