Sue Griffin received both a bachelor's and master's degree in nutrition from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and a doctorate in physiology from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine. Following the completion of her doctorate, Griffin was a fellow at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in medicine. Today she is a professor of pediatrics, neurobiology and developmental science, and medicine and physiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is associate director of the Geriatric Research Education Clinic Center and the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
