    The accumulation of ammonium and lactic acid is a significant challenge in industrial animal cell culture, impacting cell growth, productivity and product quality. These by-products result from the breakdown of amino acids and glucose, respectively. Their buildup can lower the culture pH, diminish cell viability and reduce overall productivity.
