Using Recycled Materials in Civil Engineering Applications
Author(s): Carter Evans*
The increasing demand for sustainable practices in civil engineering has highlighted the potential of using recycled materials as a viable
alternative to conventional construction resources. This paper explores the application of recycled materials in civil engineering, focusing on their
benefits, challenges and overall impact on the construction industry. Recycled materials such as crushed concrete, Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
(RAP) and recycled glass are examined for their performance characteristics, economic feasibility and environmental benefits. The study reveals
that integrating recycled materials into civil engineering projects not only reduces waste and conserves natural resources but also contributes to
lower construction costs and improved structural performance. The findings suggest that while there are challenges associated with the use of
recycled .. Read More»
