  The Prevalence and Pattern of Poststroke Anxiety in a Tertiary Hospital in Abakaliki Nigeria: An Observational Study

  Background: Anxiety is a very common mental health complication after an acute stroke. It hurts the overall poststroke outcome. There has not been any study to demonstrate the burden of poststroke Anxiety in Abakaliki, Nigeria. It is against this background that we embarked on this study of the Prevalence and Pattern of Poststroke Anxiety in a Federal Tertiary Hospital in Abakaliki Nigeria. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and observational hospital-based study undertaken at the Adult Neurology Outpatient Clinic of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Nigeria from January 2022 to July 2022 (7-month period).
