  This review explores the phenomenon of cardiac troponin elevation following physical activity in healthy young athletes. Cardiac troponins are highly sensitive markers of myocardial injury traditionally associated with acute cardiac events. However, recent research has demonstrated that intense exercise can also lead to transient elevations in cardiac troponin levels, even in the absence of underlying heart disease.
