Epidemiology and intensity of Cryptosporidium infection in cattle and sheep in selected areas of central Oromia, Ethiopia

Back ground: Cryptosporidiosis is a disease caused by a variety of Cryptosporidium species and causes gastrointestinal illness in a wide variety
of mammals including humans, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and horses worldwide.
Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted from December 2021 to July 2022 to estimate the prevalence, identify associated risk factors
and estimate infection intensity of the parasite in cattle and sheep in Central Oromia. Fecal flotation sheathers’ solution and modified acid fast
techniques were used to identify Cryptosporidium oocysts from fecal samples.
