  Flavonoids are a diverse group of plant secondary metabolites known for their multifaceted roles in various aspects of plant physiology. Recent research has unveiled their crucial involvement in mitigating the effects of drought stress, a significant challenge affecting global agriculture. This article synthesizes findings from metabolic and transcriptional analyses that highlight the pivotal role of flavonoids in the drought stress response. Key mechanisms include antioxidant activity, regulation of signaling pathways and modulation of gene expression.
