    Prostate Cancer and the Microbiome: A New Target for Prevention and Treatment

    The Since the Human Microbiome Project was founded, more and more proof of the microbiome's influence on human health and illness has come to light. Prostate cancer, which is still the second most common male malignancy globally, may be affected significantly by changes in the microbiota makeup, according to recent studies. Research on the gut, urinary, and intra-prostate microbiome signature and the relationship with local and systemic inflammation, host immunity response, and progression has been made possible by recent advances in biological technologies, such as high-throughput sequencing, transcriptomics, and metabolomics.
