Clinical Applications of Long-acting Antiretrovirals in HIV/AIDS Care

The advent of long-acting antiretroviral therapies (LA-ARTs) has revolutionized HIV/AIDS management by addressing adherence challenges
associated with daily medication regimens. LA-ARTs offer sustained drug levels, reducing dosing frequency to weekly or monthly intervals. This
review explores the clinical implications and applications of LA-ARTs in HIV/AIDS care, emphasizing their impact on treatment adherence, viral
suppression and quality of life. Key studies demonstrate comparable efficacy to daily regimens with potential benefits in resource-limited settings
and among marginalized populations. Challenges such as safety profiles, patient acceptance and healthcare infrastructure requirements are also
