Author(s): Mario Allegra*
Juvenile Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common primary glomerulonephritis worldwide and represents a significant cause
of kidney disease in children and adolescents. This chronic kidney disorder is characterized by the deposition of Immunoglobulin A (IgA) in
the glomerular mesangium, leading to inflammation and renal damage. IgAN typically presents with various clinical manifestations, but Acute
Kidney Injury (AKI) at the onset of the disease is a severe and relatively rare complication that has been of growing concern in recent years. The
coexistence of IgAN and AKI poses a significant clinical challenge, as it can lead to rapid deterioration in renal function and poor outcomes. There
is a need for comprehensive research to understand the prognosis, risk factors, and optimal management strategies for children and adolescents
with IgAN who expe.. Read More»
