In medicine, mentoring has always been significant. In fact, one could claim that's how medical professionals are educated. Mentorship has also
been shown to protect and advance those who want to practice academic medicine. Since interest in the discipline has waned over the past ten
years, mentorship in nephrology has taken on a crucial role. This article will outline the effects of mentoring on medical careers, discuss several
types of mentors and their traits, and list the duties of both mentors and mentees. We will talk about specific problems in nephrology and how
