Antimicrobial Activity of Anthocyanins Extracted from Red Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor. L) Bran

Recently, natural products have been evaluated as sources of antimicrobial agents with efficacies against a variety of micro-organisms. This study described the antibacterial activity of anthocyanins extracted from red sorghum bran on selected bacteria. The anthocyanins extracted by using acidified ethanol have shown highest antibacterial activity compared to methanol extracts.
