The Importance of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation in Managing Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, poses significant challenges in management due to its
chronic and relapsing nature. Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) has emerged as a promising therapeutic option, aiming to restore the
dysbiotic gut microbiota associated with IBD. This review explores the importance of FMT in managing IBD by examining its mechanisms
of action, clinical efficacy, safety profile and future directions. Evidence from preclinical studies, clinical trials and real-world experiences is
synthesized to elucidate the role of FMT in inducing remission, reducing disease activity and improving quality of life in IBD patients. Moreover,
