    The gut microbiome, consisting of trillions of microorganisms residing in the gastrointestinal tract, has been increasingly recognized as a critical player in human health and disease. It is now well-established that the gut microbiome influences various physiological processes, including digestion, immune function, and metabolism. More recently, it has been linked to the development and progression of several diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and neurological disorders.
