    The Role of Gut Microbiota in the Pathogenesis and Management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

    Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract with a multifactorial etiology. Emerging evidence suggests that gut microbiota plays a critical role in the pathogenesis and management of IBD. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current research on the role of gut microbiota in IBD, focusing on its contributions to disease development, progression, and potential therapeutic interventions. Alterations in the gut microbiota composition, characterized by dysbiosis, have been implicated in the disruption of intestinal homeostasis and immune responses.
