Associate Professor of Comparative Anatomy and Cytology and member of the Graduate School in Environmental Systems Analysis, "Federico II" University of Naples, Italy. Member of the working group of the Biological Bioindicators of the Italian Society of Marine Biology; of the Interdepartmental Research Center for Environment and of the Interdepartmental Research Center of Bioactive Peptides of the University of Naples; of the Young Investigator Awards Judging Annual Meeting of the Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine, USA and Co-Head of the certified laboratory UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 of Comparative Endocrinology at the Department of Biology, University of Naples. Her research works, published in widely international journals and object of invitation as a speaker at national and international conferences, defined the correlation between oxidants and antioxidants in physiological defenses embryonic and larval development of non-mammalian vertebrates and the role of steroid receptors in the breeding season.
Her research goal is to obtain an integrated understanding of the steroid-sensitive brain circuitry and the subcellular signaling pathways that mediate the steroid actions. A major research focus is the biochemical and molecular mechanisms involved in the reproductive cycle; relationship between oxidant, or promoters of oxidation levels of environmental and physiological defenses of fertility and during embryonic development; specie identification and strategy of conservation of animals at risk of extinction.
Current interests include: impact of endocrine disruptors on steroid receptors and antioxidants in non mammalian.
