PaweÅ Smaga, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Finance at Warsaw School of Economics. He is a senior economist at the National Bank of Poland, responsible for analyzing financial stability issues and the EU financial system regulations. He is the author or co-author of about 30 publications on financial stability, systemic risk and the banking union. His PhD thesis received the 1st Award of the Bank Guarantee Fund and recognition from the Governor of the NBP.
