Biography

Dr. Canda was born in Izmir, Turkey in 1974. He was graduated from Hacettepe University, School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey in 1997. He completed his urological residency at Dokuz Eylul University, School of Medicine, Department of Urology in Izmir, Turkey in 2003. During his residency he spent 2 months at Universitaire Ziekenhuisen Leuven, Department of Urology in Belgium for urologic oncology training. Between 2004-2005 he received further urological trainings (research & clinical) at The University of Sheffield, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Department of Urology in Sheffield and at Southmead Hospital, Bristol Urological Institute in Bristol, United Kingdom. Thereafter, he spent 3 months at The University of Heidelberg, SLK Kliniken Heilbronn, Department of Urology in Germany for Laparoscopic Urology training. Since 2009, Dr. Canda is actively involved in Robotic Urology. He was appointed as an Associate Professor of Urology in 2011. During the ESUR Meeting in Istanbul, Dr. Canda will be giving a talk on ‘’Testicular sparing surgery’’. He has surgical and clinical experience on this challenging topic and he published papers related with this topic in International Journal of Urology (2001) and Canadian Journal of Urology (2009). He is a member of EAU, AUA and SIU. He has been elected as a member of Robotic Urology Expert Group of Young Academic Urologists (YAU) of European Association of Urology (EAU) in 2013. Dr. Canda is currently working at Yildirim Beyazit University, School of Medicine, Ankara Ataturk Training & Research Hospital, Department of Urology in Ankara, Turkey.
