Dr. Katerina graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1990. In this Faculty, she received her PhD degree in canine exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in 1995. She worked as an Assistant Professor for 3 years in the Clinic of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Greece and then she returned to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece where she is currently Assistant Professor at the Companion Animal Clinic (Medicine). She was visitor in Small Animal Internal Medicine in the School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, UK and in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy. She has published over 70 articles in peer reviewed professional journals.
