Professor Alberto TarragaTomas was born in Almansa (Albacete, Spain) and obtained his degree in chemistry at the University of Murcia (Spain), where he also received his Ph.D in 1979. After accomplishing his postdoctoral studies in Prof. A. Katriztky′s group at the University of East Anglia, Norwich (UK), in 1980 and at the University of Florida (USA) in 1981, he joined the group of Professor P. Molina at the University of Murcia. In 1984 he held a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Murcia, and since 2004 he is Full Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry in the same university.
Heterocyclic chemistry, synthesis of products with biological interest and new molecular sensing probes which are sensitive and selective towards cations, anions and neutral molecules of biological an environmental interest.
