ÖMER ALKAN received the B.S. degree in department of economics from Ataturk University, in 2005, the master’s degree in department of business from Ataturk University, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in department of business from Ataturk University in 2013. In 2010, he started to work as an Research Assistant at the department of business. In 2013, he appointed as assistant professor in the department of econometrics. In 2018, he appointed as associate professor in the department of econometrics and is currently working in the same department. Before this position, he worked as a Internal Auditor for four years in Ziraatbank, Bayburt-Turkey. He has many scientific articles and some of them are indexed in SSCI, SCI, ESCI, Scopus, and Econlit. His main research interests are discrete choice models, categorical data analysis, count data, spline regression models, public health, health economics, poverty, and electronic commerce.
