Ana Marija Grancaric holds her Ph. D. in the field of quenching of fluorescence at Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb. The Society of Dyers and Colourist Chartered Colourist (C.Col.) and Fellow . (F.SDC). She is a member of Croatian Technical Academy. From 1989. to 1994. she was Head of Chemical Department and from 2002 to 2006 Vice-Dean for science and international relations at Faculty of Textile Technology. She is full professor of chemical pretreatmnets and finishing of textiles.
She published 4 books, 60 papers in refeered journals and 62 papers presented to scientific meetings. She is the member of numerous societies and associations. From 1999 to 2002 she was the SDC (Bradford, UK) Council member. At AUTEX she is the Faculty coordinator. AUTEX is European Association of Textile Universities. Academic year 2008/2009 she is coordinating the European Master Study under the name “European Master Programme in Textile Engineering”.
Specialties:Electrokinetic charge and surface free energy of textiles, cotton mercerization and cationization, surface modification of textiles, textile bleaching, fluorescence and its quenching, sunprotected and antimicrobial finishing of textiles, bioscouring of cotton, application of zeolite micro and nanoparticles in multifunctional finishing of textiles.
