Biography

Andrea Giusti was born in Genova, Italy, in 1974. He received the Doctor of Medicine degree (summa cum laude) in the 2000 (University of Genova) and the Specialist in Geriatrics and Gerontology degree from the Genova University in 2004.
Since 2001, A. Giusti is in the Department of Gerontology and Musculoskeletal Sciences of the Galliera Hospital (Genova, Italy).
In 2009-2010, he was a Senior Researcher in the Bone Clinic of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, NL).
Presently, he is Medical Director 1st level in the Department of Gerontology and Musculoskeletal Sciences of the Galliera Hospital.

Research Interest

He is mainly interested in Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases: secondary hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency, bisphosphonates, atypical femoral fractures and hip fractures.
In 2008, he was recipient of the ASBMR Shun-ichi Harada Young Investigator Award.
