BS and MSc in Molecular Biology, Brandeis and Adelphi Universities, USA. PhD in Genetics, Athens University. Professor Emeritus of Genetics, Department of Medical Genetics, Athens University School of Medicine. Contributed in the organization of the largest Genetic Medical Center in Greece and was head of Cytogenetics and Molecular Cytogenetics. Activities included identification of chromosome abnormalities in patients with congenital anomalies, mental retardation, recurrent abortions, malignancies and fragility syndromes with cytogenetic and molecular techniques. Her special interests involve non- invasive prenatal diagnosis using fetal cells and fetal DNA in maternal blood. She collaborates with several research institutes abroad, is a member of 12 scientific societies and recipient of awards from the Academy of Greece, Athens University and numerous Greek and International organizations. Author of 130 international, 30 Greek articles and 37 chapters in international and Greek scientific books. Current Position: Head of Cytogenetics, Genesis Genoma Lab, Athens, Greece
