Dr. Ben-Zhan (Benny) Zhu, is a Professor of Chemistry and Toxicology in State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China. He has received a PhD degree in free radical biochemistry and toxicology from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, in 1999; He has completed his MS degree in organic synthesis in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, China, in 1989. He received “National Outstanding Young Scientist Award” from NSF-China in 2009, and “Outstanding 100-Talent Investigator” from CAS in 2011. He is serving as an editorial board member for several reputed journals like Chem. Res. Toxicol., and published more than 30 papers in such journals like PNAS. His research findings have been cited and discussed in the classic textbook Free Radicals in Biology & Medicine (Ed. Halliwell & Gutteridge; 4th Edition, 2007).
