Betsy D. Gulledge, PhD, RN, received her B.A. in psychology at Auburn University in 1992. She graduated with an A.D.N. from Southern Union State Community College in 1995 and has over 15 years experience working in the area of mental health. After several years of working at a free-standing psychiatric facility, Dr. Gulledge went on to pursue a BSN (2002) and MSN (2005) from Jacksonville State University, and a PhD in Nursing (2010) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was also a Leadership in Education of Child Health Nursing fellow. She is currently the Director of the BSN program and assistant professor of nursing at Jacksonville State University, where she teaches Statistics, Community Mental Health, and is Coordinator of Communication of Ethical Issues.
Betsy D. Gulledge current focus of research is specific to Biobehavioral Interventions and overweight in children. Her areas of interest also include: mental health advocacy and alternative treatment modalities.
