Dr. Byung-Hyun Cha is a Research Professor in the Department of Biomedical Science at CHA University. He was born in 1980 in South Korea (36 years old) and studied at Kangwon National University, where he received B.S. (1994), M.S. (2009) in Department of Animal Science, and received Ph.D. (2013) degrees in the Department of Biomedical Science at CHA University. He was a Post-doctoral fellow at Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, Department of Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His academic career started at the Department of Biomedical Science at CHA University (Research Professor, 2016-present). Dr. Cha’s works at chondrocyte biology, stem cell biology, developmental biology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, stem cell engineering, and cell therapy. He has published over 23 scientific papers and his papers were cited 247 times (h-index=8). He holds more than 6 granted or pending patents. Dr. Cha is a member of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), Korean Society for Biomaterials, Korean Tissue Engineering and Regeneration, Korean Society of Medical & Biological Engineering, and so on. He has been awarded Postdoctoral fellowship in 2014 from National Research Foundations of Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (from Korean Government) and several Participation/Best Oral Presentation in 2011 and 2010 from Third Korea-UK Stem Cell Symposium, Korea Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society, The Korean Society for biomaterials and, and so on.
